LVC softball is set to open its season over spring break in Davenport, Florida. The team is scheduled to play 10 games over the course of the week against some of the best talent across the country.
One obstacle for the team is that it has been unable to practice outside on the softball diamond. Pennsylvania weather is a coin flip at this time of year, and unfortunately, the weather has not been providing outdoor sports any favors.
“We’ve made the most of the warm days by practicing on our turf,” Megan Heard, a junior infielder, said. “We’re fortunate to be able to set up almost a complete field on our indoor courts, so we’ve still been able to get a lot done. I think we’re ready for some real ground balls next week.”
The Dutchmen look to use many first-year pitchers to replace two all-conference arms from the 2024 season. The team also looks to build off back-to-back regional appearances and hopes to win a second conference title in a row.
