Freelance author and editor, Sarah Cypher, read and answered questions at Bishop Library.

Sarah Cypher is a freelance author and editor whose writing appeared in New Ohio Review, North American Review, Crab Orchard Review among others. Cypher has an MFA from the Program for Writers at Warren Wilson College and a BA from Carnegie Mellon University. She is also the author of the novel “The Skin and Its Girl.”

On Monday Sept. 25, Cypher read an excerpt from her novel and answered questions from the audience members. When asked when she writes or when is the best time to write, Cypher explained how she used to wake up early in the morning to write.

“You can write whenever; you just have to tell the world to shut up for a minute and draw that line in the sand,” said Cypher.

The second “Writing: A Life” this year will host Joseph Earl on Oct. 17, 2023. This will be in the Bishop Library and include a reading and Q&A session on his writing.
