Dutchmen football earned its first home win of the season. This past Saturday, Sept. 24, LVC football played against MAC opponent Wilkes University for its second conference contest this season.
The scoring got started with a 38-yard touchdown pass by sophomore quarterback Braden Bohannon to senior fullback Ian Murhon. The Dutchmen offense continued to drive throughout the game, with another passing touchdown by Bohannon in the second quarter to senior wide receiver, Jay Sisko for seven yards. The final and third touchdown was in the third quarter, which was a quarterback sneak by Bohannon. The last three points for LVC was a 27-yard field goal by senior kicker Devin Krone.
The Dutchmen defense also had a big day, with junior defensive end Noah Caldani recording seven tackles with a sack. The final score was 24-19, LVC.
“We played a hard game, with all three phases of the ball showing up. It was a great team win and everyone contributed,” Jake Marcus, a junior defensive tackle, said.
The Dutchmen are now 2-2, with a 2-0 record in the MAC. They take on Alvernia University next Saturday at 1 p.m. at Alvernia. Stream the game on godutchmen.com .
