The Dutchmen (1-2) will face off against the Colonels of Wilkes University (2-0) at Arnold Field on Saturday, Sept. 24.
The Dutchmen are coming off an exciting win last week at FDU Florham with Devin Crone drilling a 36-yard game winning field goal. This week against Wilkes, the Dutchmen will need to see big performances from sophomore quarterback Braden Bohannon, who threw for 131 yards with one touchdown while also leading the team in rushing with 99 yards last week against FDU Florham.
On the defensive end, the Dutchmen are looking to sophomore Jacob Horton and junior Nick Morder. Horton last week lead the defense with nine tackles and Morder added two interceptions in the victory over FDU Florham.
The Wilkes University Colonels are coming off an impressive win over Widener last Saturday. Sophomore quarterback Isaiah Rodriguez threw for 319 yards and 3 touchdowns. Junior running back Elijah Jules also rushed for 180 yards and one touchdown in the contest.
The offensive line for the Colonels was also named to the DIII team of the week for its performance against Widener, helping tally 260 yards on the ground and 341 yards through the air.
The game starts at 1 p.m. at Arnold Field. This game is the team’s annual Coach to Cure MD game, which seeks to raise awareness and money for helping treat muscular dystrophy.
