The field hockey team hosted “Crush Cancer Games” in honor of Abbie Keath, a junior forward on the team.
Keath was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma earlier this year. She recently completed her chemotherapy treatments in August.
The evening began with a game between McCaskey and ELCO, Keath’s high school. The Dutchmen then took on No. 5 Messiah at 7 p.m.
Although the team suffered a tough 1-4 lost, the night was still victorious as money was raised for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. The team sold hundreds of t-shirts to fans and students.
“I am beyond thankful for everyone who took on the rain and came out to support me and my team,” Keath said.
The field hockey team plays against No. 4 Kean University at 7 p.m. on Sept. 30 at the Arnold Field.
