It is obvious that COVID-19 has wreaked havoc across the world, in general, affecting everyone’s lives. Not only has the virus canceled professional, collegiate and high school seasons, it has also put a halt on sports in their off seasons.
However, fall sports teams at LVC have not let the virus prevent them from preparing for their fall seasons. Many teams have found ways to utilize learning platforms so that teams can still implement spring training while following guidelines to prevent the spread of the virus.
Women’s field hockey continues to work out individually with drills and routines that are sent from coaching and training staff. The team also meets weekly to discuss information and meet with its FU to better develop their game.
The women’s soccer team has a similar approach to its offseason. The team conducts online workout sessions together over an online platform. The team also keeps in contact through biweekly phone calls so that the players and coaches can make sure that everyone is okay and on track.
The football team is also using technology to help advance the team through its offseason. The team has been using an online platform to share presentations to help players refresh their knowledge of the playbook and develop knowledge of the game.
“I feel that if we stick together and trust the process by taking it day by day next fall will be a field day for LVC athletics,” Dre Burch, junior defensive back, said.
Although times are tough, LVC always finds away!
