Lebanon Valley College Men’s Ice Hockey Team will host its ninth annual military appreciation game Friday, Feb. 8.
The Dutchmen will face off against the Lions of Bryn Athyn College at 7 p.m., and the evening is focused on raising money to benefit the Pennsylvania Wounded Warrior Foundation among other veteran-related charities. Attendees can expect to see game-worn jersey auctions, raffles and silent auctions for baskets containing anything from wine and cheese to collections of gift cards to local hot spots.
In the past eight years, the Dutchmen have helped raise almost $100,000—a number they are hoping to eclipse this year. On top of this, military night is known for providing a unique and memorable atmosphere.
“It’s always a game that’s circled on the calendar,” Cole Hepler, junior forward and assistant captain, said. “We love military night because it’s such a fun game to play in, but more importantly, we’re helping a group of men and women who dedicated their lives to helping us.”
