This season, LVC’s volleyball team looks to rebound after losing in the MAC Commonwealth Semifinal round last year.
“We lost last year in the semifinals and we definitely think we have the ability and drive to make it to the finals this time around,” Jayna Class, a sophomore outside hitter, said.
With ten players including four seniors returning this season, there is a huge amount of experience for the team, and they remember the mistakes they made last year. The team has learned and are ready to win.
“This year, we are going to take each game at one point at a time and know that a game can change at any instance,” Class said. “Whoever has momentum is in control, and we are going to make sure we have as much as possible.”
Not only are the women ready to play on the court, but it’s a bittersweet moment for the seniors.
“As I go into my last season, it’s hard to think that in two months I’ll be done, but I know we are going to give our all when we play,” Jess Attieh, senior captain and outside hitter, said.
The volleyball team has 28 matches, and their current overall record is 5-7.
“We are a hardworking team with the right motivation, so we should do well,” Class said.
Their next game is against Penn State Harrisburg on Tuesday, Sept 25, at 7 p.m. in Middletown, PA.
