 Meal Policy for Students in Quarantine 

PURPOSE: To prevent community spread of illness 

For asymptomatic individuals with potential exposure to COVID-19 or those who have traveled to states defined as hotspots by the Pennsylvania government. Students in quarantine are instructed to stay in their rooms. Leave your room only to use the bathroom or to go outside for fresh air following safety protocols. Students in quarantine should practice vigilant physical distancing, wear a cloth mask, wash their hands often, and take their classes virtually.

• Students in quarantine must find another student to pick up their meal and deliver it to them. If a resident student in quarantine is unable to find another student to pick up their meal, they can call student affairs at 717-867-6233. Student affairs can assist with meal delivery for resident students in quarantine Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. until 4 p.m., pending staff availability. 

• Breakfast is available for pick-up from 7–9 a.m.. Lunch is available for pick-up from 11:30 a.m.–1 p.m. Dinner is available for pick-up from 5–6:30 p.m.. Daily dining hall menus are available here

• For students with more severe illness, Metz will provide banana, rice, applesauce, toast, chicken broth, crackers, bottle of water, and a can of ginger ale on request. 

Process 

• Quarantined students can email their selections to ma4013dining@metzcorp.com. Students should include their name; student ID number; food allergies (if applicable); name of the student picking up their meal; and the time of the meal pick-up in their email. 

• Quarantined students must provide a two-hour notice for all meal orders. 

• Disposables will be used for all meal orders.

• The pick-up person must tell the Mund dining hall greeter whose meal they are getting.

 Meal Policy for Students in Isolation 

PURPOSE: To prevent community spread of illness 

For those who have symptoms of COVID-19 or have either tested positive or are awaiting test results. Students in isolation are instructed to remain in their assigned isolation space, except to receive medical care. Students in isolation should practice vigilant physical distancing, wear a cloth mask, wash their hands often, and take their classes virtually. 

• Metz will deliver meals to students in isolation. 

• Breakfast is available for pick-up from 7:30–9 a.m.. Lunch is available for pick-up from 11:30 a.m.–1 p.m. Dinner is available for pick-up from 5–6:30 p.m.. Daily dining hall menus are available here.
