Dr. Kathryn M. Whiteley, associate professor of criminal justice and international expert on the study of women who kill, was a recent guest on one of the most highly watched programs across Australia, Channel Nine Australia’s Under Investigation: with Liz Hayes series. Dr. James M. MacLaren, LVC president, was interviewed for the CBS TV 21 story, “Project Education–As COVID cases surge, colleges prepare for the fall semester.” Dr. MacLaren and fellow Central Pennsylvania educational leaders discussed their institution’s plan for safely returning to campus this fall.
Beth Julian ’09, assistant dean of student success and retention, and Sarah Bartz ’08, director of academic success, shared their commitment to mentorship and how LVC faculty and staff closely mentor students to ensure their academic and personal success. The pair were interviewed by Reporter Amy Kehm for WHTM ABC TV 27’s Good Day PA in August as part of their Back to School series.
Sam Machin ’19, early childhood education and business administration, performed “Good Morning Sunshine” live during WHTM TV 27’s Good Day PA show July 17. Sam performed with the Anthony Pieruccini Trio, which has two LVC students as members, to promote her newly released EP, “In the Stars.” In February, Sam was signed to LVC’s student-run VALE records and the student-run VALE produced and promoted Sam’s album.
Two rising seniors, Anthony Pieruccini ’18 (music major, business minor) and Nick Kochanek ’18 (music and audio & music production double major), performed on ABC 27’s Good Day PA in early July as part of the Anthony Pieruccini Trio. The group performed their jazz piece, Blues for Mikki, on the live show and promoted their CD, Tri Me, and upcoming performances, including a show at Cassel Vineyards of Hershey at the end of the month.
