Dr. Eva Frank, assistant professor of athletic training, was interviewed for a recent CBS TV21 story, “Healthcare workers of the future, program hopes to fill need in burdened healthcare system.” In the story, Dr. Frank noted “In the COVID-19 era, we saw athletic trainers really being pulled into other things like giving vaccines. It was really neat to see that we can be flexible healthcare providers.” 

Dr. Roger Nelson, professor emeritus of physical therapy, was interviewed by WGAL TV regarding the talking teddy bear he and a colleague developed to help dementia patients connect. Dr. Nelson was the chair of physical therapy who helped the department achieve its inaugural national accreditation.

Dr. Kathryn M. Whiteley, associate professor of criminal justice and international expert on the study of women who kill, was a recent guest on one of the most highly watched programs across Australia, Channel Nine Australia’s Under Investigation: with Liz Hayes series. Dr. Whiteley appears just past the 22-minute mark of the Adultery, Murder, and Mayhem: The Scandalous Crime Unsolved for 30 Years.

Dr. James M. MacLaren, LVC president, was interviewed for the CBS TV 21 story, “Project Education–As COVID cases surge, colleges prepare for the fall semester.” Dr. MacLaren and fellow Central Pennsylvania educational leaders discussed their institution’s plan for safely returning to campus this fall.

Dr. Carmen Garcia Armero, associate professor of Spanish, was interviewed by the hosts as ABC TV27’s Good Day PA to discuss mindfulness. Garcia Armero shared tips regarding how people can benefit from using mindfulness every day.

Beth Julian ’09, assistant dean of student success and retention, and Sarah Bartz ’08, director of academic success, shared their commitment to mentorship and how LVC faculty and staff closely mentor students to ensure their academic and personal success. The pair were interviewed by Reporter Amy Kehm for WHTM ABC TV 27’s Good Day PA in August as part of their Back to School series.

Dr. Laura Eldred, assistant dean and director of Constellation LVC, discussed horror in film and literature with viewers of ABC TV’s Good Day PA.

Dr. Rebecca Urban, professor biology and director of environmental science, “shared guidance on how to identify invasive plants in your garden, and insight on the long-term problems they can cause,” on WHTM TV 27’s Good Day PA. 

Dr. Matthew Sayers, associate professor of religion and director of religion and philosophy, was interviewed by Dennis Owens, ABC’s anchor, for a story about the Catholic Church and priests who serve as exorcists.

Timothy Dewald, assistant professor of mathematical sciences, was a popular media ask heading toward the August partial solar eclipse in Lebanon. Professor Dewald, who has taught astronomy at LVC, was interviewed by WGAL NBC and the Lebanon Daily News on how to properly—and safely—view the eclipse.
