Dr. Kathleen Blouch, adjunct professor of education, presented “Modeling the Democratic STEM Teaching Framework Using the Design Process” at the Pennsylvania Science Teachers Association Conference 2021. The conference, Innovating for the Future, was virtual this year.

Dr. Blouch Selected for STEMEd Innovators Fellowship

Dr. Kathleen Blouch, STEM curriculum and partnership coordinator, was selected to participate in the STEMEd Innovators Fellowship 2021. The goal is to empower STEM educators to create empathetic, anti-racist, culturally responsive classrooms through iterative innovation. The international cohort’s synchronous and asynchronous professional development is designed to build democratic STEM classrooms focused on Student Voice, Shared and Transformational Authority, and Critical STEM Literacy.

Gov. Wolf Appoints Dr. Blouch to State Science Committee

Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Wolf appointed Dr. Kathleen Blouch, director of the Master of Science in STEM Education Program, to a committee to update the Pennsylvania Academic Science and Technology, Environment, and Ecology Standards. Blouch joins the committee of education professionals selected to serve as content experts to draft the new standards.
