Yingst Named Advisor to Reading Royals

Doug Yingst P’01, director of corporate relations and athletic giving, has added a new “hobby” in his free time. Yingst, who oversees fundraising for LVC’s Blue & White Club, was named an advisor to the Reading Royals ice hockey club, which competes in the East Coast Hockey League has a branch team for the National Hockey League’s Philadelphia Flyers.

Wright and Parsons Pen Piece in National Magazine

Edwin Wright, vice president of enrollment management, and Don Parsons, director of ice hockey operations, co-wrote an article, Executing a ‘Power Play,’ that was published in the June issue of College Planning & Management. The authors shared the many benefits that have resulted from LVC adding women’s ice hockey as an NCAA sport and having the men’s ice hockey team rejoining the NCAA, including the growth in LVC’s potential applicant pool.

Alex Beatrice ’07 Named Head Coach

Alex Beatrice, a business administration major from the Class of 2007, was named head boys ice hockey coach at Montville High School in New Jersey in early June. He had previously served as an assistant coach for seven years at the Morristown-Beard School. Beatrice was among LVC’s top five scorers during his four years as a Dutchman, including the team’s leading scorer his senior season.
