Massad’s Art Featured in New York City Exhibition

Pastel paintings on paper by Dan Massad, artist-in-residence, are featured in an exhibition at New York City’s Forum Gallery through March 12. Massad, who “creates still lifes of objects of personal and historic significance,” is one of four artists featured in the Stillness of Life display.

Dr. Taylor and Colleague Design COVID Photography Program

Dr. Grant Taylor, professor of art & art history, joined Emilie Shuler, an outpatient recreation therapist, to design an online art therapy program for veterans coping with isolation and depression during COVID-19. The virtual Vantage Point: Telehealth Photography Program focuses on COVID-related issues through personal phone camera photos. Taylor is teaching two groups of veterans through the Veterans Affairs video connect platform to center them on successful coping skills and increased social connection during a period of significant isolation. An online presence and exhibit will publish later this spring.

Retrospective of G. Daniel Massad’s Work on Display at PSU Palmer Museum

A Small Radius of Light: G. Daneil Massad, A Retrospective,” premiered at the Palmer Museum of Art at The Pennsylvania State University September 25 and runs through December 9. The retrospective of LVC’s long-time artist-in-residence features “signature works borrowed from public as well as private colleges. The exhibition also includes an array of early work and beautiful drawings from throughout Massad’s career, as well as some of the ‘ordinary’ objects featured in his extraordinary still lifes,” according to a Palmer Museum release. Massad’s work is displayed in several private collections and in major museums, including the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the National Gallery of Art.
