Dr. Dompier Co-Authors Research Published in Pediatrics and Journal of Athletic Training

Dr. Thomas Dompier, associate professor of athletic training, co-authored Injury Incidence in Youth, High School, and NCAA Men’s Lacrosse in Pediatrics, the journal of the American Academy of Pediatrics, in June 2019. Dompier also co-authored research, Appropriate Medical Care Standards for Organizations Sponsoring Athletic Activity for the Secondary School-Aged Athlete: A Summary Statement, in the Journal of Athletic Training in May 2019.

Dr. Dompier and Colleagues Publish 14 Papers on Sports Injuries

Dr. Thomas Dompier, associate professor of athletic training, and colleagues from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, George Mason University, Palo Alto Medical Foundation Research Institute, University of Colorado School of Medicine, Colorado School of Public Health, MedStar Sports Medicine Research Center, and Datalys Center for Sports Injury Research and Prevention published a series of 14 papers in the Journal of Athletic Training comparing high school and collegiate sports injuries. The papers, published in 2018 and 2019, compared sports injuries for women’s lacrosse, men’s lacrosse, softball, baseball, men’s wrestling, men’s and women’s ice hockey (combined paper), women’s basketball, men’s basketball, men’s soccer, women’s soccer, field hockey, women’s volleyball, football, and methods.
