Indiantown Gap Environmental Compliance Internship&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li><li>Jacquelyn McBride \u201924, ACS chemistry and English majors \u2013 University of Connecticut Avery Point and Mystic Aquarium REU Program.\u202f&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li><li>Ben Smith \u201924, biochemistry &amp; molecular biology and environmental science majors  \u2013 Forestry Field Technician at Purdue University&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li><li>Ilyssa McLaughlin \u201924, environmental science major \u2013 Humpback whales &amp; Hawaii&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><em>April 14, 2023, 3-5 p.m. \u2013 LVC Campus Clean-Up with Sustainability House<\/em>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sign-up on Redbook to participate in a spring clean-up and mulching day facilitated by LVC\u2019s Office of Community Service &amp; Volunteerism and Facilities Services.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>April 15, 2023, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. \u2013 Service Event: Quittie Creek Garbage Clean-Up Extravaganza<\/em>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Contact Michael Schroeder at schroede@lvc.edu to participate in a trash clean-up event at the Quittapahilla Creek. Suitable plastic artifacts that are collected will be displayed in the Quittapahilla Creek Garbage Museum. Volunteers should meet in the parking lot of the Game Time Fun Center at 22nd St. &amp; Cumberland St. in North Cornwall Township.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>April 19, 2023, 12-1 p.m. (NG-203) \u2013 Balancing Conservation and Human Uses of Middle Creek Wildlife Management Area<\/em>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lauren Ferreri, manager of Middle Creek Wildlife Management Area (PA Game Commission), will speak about the PA Game Commission&#8217;s role in managing nearly 6,000 acres of natural resources while balancing conservation efforts.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>April 19, 2023, 7 p.m. \u2013 Keynote Earth Days Speaker Larry Weaner: Establishing Native Vegetation on Conserved Lands: Meadows, Shrublands &amp; Woodlands<\/em>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Larry Weaner, author of <em>Garden Revolution: How Our Landscapes can be a Source of Environmental Change,<\/em> will discuss land management for ecological services. The Lebanon Valley Conservancy, LVC\u2019s Biology Department, and LVC\u2019s Environmental Sustainability Advisory Committee will co-sponsor the event. The Richard H. and Karen R. Light Memorial Scholarship will be awarded at the start of this event by the Lebanon Valley Conservancy.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>April 20, 2023, 2-4 p.m. \u2013 Guided Nature Walk and Tour of LVC\u2019s Wood Thrush Research Preserve<\/em>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dr. Becker and Dr. Urban will lead a nature walk and tour of LVC\u2019s Wood Thrush Research Preserve.
