She will be reading from her latest poetry collection, \u201cMother\/Land,\u201d a collection of poems about the immigrant experience, motherhood, multilingualism and issues of belonging.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWriting: A Life is such a wonderful chance for students to have one-on-one interactions with writers doing exciting contemporary work,\u201d Dr. Holly Wendt, associate professor of English and director of creative writing, said. \u201cBringing in writers beyond the LVC faculty expands our ways of thinking and our artistic sensibilities.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The event, which is free and open to the public, will take place on Monday, March 21 at 7 p.m. in the Bishop Library Atrium and via Zoom.
