They host the annual Symposium on Inclusive Excellence and sponsor various events that center around race and LGBTQ+ social justice awareness, gender and identity education, policy changes and immigration issues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe have started planning for this year\u2019s symposium scheduled for Tuesday, February 8,\u201d Jill Russell, director of global education and co-facilitator of the IIL, said. \u201cWe are also looking at other opportunities for educational events before and after the symposium.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition to helping plan the symposium and other events, members of the committee will help review current programs and develop new programs that aim to maintain inclusion and acceptance at LVC.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe need creative and open-minded students with a passion for problem solving to help the IIL continue to educate our campus community through our inclusive excellence charge,\u201d Russell said. \u201cIf you have the ability to work in a team, understand why inclusion is a priority at LVC, and want to help us achieve our goals around diversity, equity and inclusion\u2013apply for the one-year position!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The deadline to apply is Friday, Oct. 22.
