The Homecoming Dutchmen Dance-Off began three years ago, with last year being online. This year everyone was able to enjoy their fellow classmates\u2019 routines in person.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The dance team was\u00a0the key component\u00a0for most of the dancers that performed. They worked with teams for weeks in advance to help choreograph and prepare the dances for showtime.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ainsley Cline, a junior on the dance team, has helped with the Dutchmen Dance-Off even when it was online last year. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe dance team wasn\u2019t as involved with the online dance-off as we are with the homecoming dance-off,\u201d Cline said. “But personally, I did help with it last year. I helped the swim team choreograph a dance and record it!\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cline helped the women\u2019s soccer team this year, \u201cmy favorite part of the Dutchmen Dance Off was being able to work with women\u2019s soccer and see how excited they were to dance!\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Madison Deller,\u00a0a junior\u00a0on the women\u2019s soccer\u00a0team\u00a0felt that Cline\u2019s help was crucial to their dance. \u201cThis year\u2019s dance was a lot better than the first thanks to the dance team,\u201d Deller said. \u201cIt was fun being out there with my teammates and having fun before homecoming.\u201d\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This year\u2019s dance-off was a new experience for other students on campus. Both first-year students and sophomores have not experienced a true in person dance-off as the juniors and seniors have.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Gabe\u00a0Iacavone,\u00a0a\u00a0sophomore\u00a0on the football team,\u00a0danced for his first time on Friday. \u201cI was more nervous for this than a game because it is not something we normally do,\u201d Iacavone said.\u00a0\u201cI think we should have won.\u201d\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Winners of the dance-off received money and bragging rights for their teams while also getting to enjoy a fun experience before homecoming events officially kicked off. Congratulations to third place field hockey, second place drum line and first place swimming.  <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
