This year\u2019s Christmas at The Valley event will be live-streamed via the LVC website.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Every year, the music department holds an event with performances by all LVC choirs, the handbell choir and various singers and instrumentalists to celebrate Christmas. Various lessons from the Bible are recited by students as well. Each member involved filmed a video of their performance or lesson to be compiled into one video that will be streamed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

 Dr. Kyle Zeuch, director of the LVC choirs, explains that time and extensive preparation were needed to make this year\u2019s Christmas at the Valley happen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThere are so many people that have gone above and beyond to make this happen,\u201d he said. \u201cThe music department faculty, marketing and communications, alumni relations, student video editors, and all of the students have been enthusiastic and grateful to be a part of this event.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In order to comply with the COVID-19 restrictions, the choirs could not rehearse as a group; only about half of the choir could rehearse at a time. Students were required to wear masks at all times, and the groups rehearsed in Chapel where they could be a minimum of 12 feet apart. Zeuch expresses the difficulty in rehearsing the choir this way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAt times, it hasn\u2019t felt like a choir at all,\u201d he said. \u201cThe thing that we rely on is that while things can\u2019t be \u2018normal\u2019 right now, there are things that can feel \u201cfamiliar.\u201d We are relying on the familiar which brings us comfort and hope.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Zeuch states that he never thought Christmas at the Valley would not happen, and believes it was important for everyone involved that it did happen. He encourages everyone to view the performance when it airs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Christmas at The Valley is on Saturday, Dec. 5, at 7 p.m. and Sunday, Dec. 6, at 3 p.m. The event will be live-streamed at www.lvc.edu\/catv<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
