Although\u00a0summer seemed to last forever,\u00a0fall has finally made its way around the corner. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fall is the perfect time for fun activities with family and friends, and there are many activities in the surrounding cities of Annville for LVC students to enjoy.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In Mountville, PA, less than an hour drive from campus, lives the notorious Field of Screams. This attraction features three haunted houses with many fear factors and scary actors as well as the spooky actors running around the open grounds where visitors can get food and drinks (at their own risk). Along with the haunted houses, Field of Screams also features a haunted hayride which includes terrifying interactions with the actors.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cField of Screams is a cool outdoor fall activity that friends can do together to solidify the true Halloween spirit,\u201d Eric Barton, a previous Field of Screams visitor, said. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

For those who have not visited before, it is a must-go. If you are planning to visit Field of Screams, it is now required that you purchase tickets online ahead of time and select a time slot. For more information, visit www.fieldofscreams.com<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Located in Lebanon,\u00a0Seyfert\u2019s\u00a0Corn Maze has many family-friendly\u00a0activities,\u00a0including a\u00a014-acre\u00a0corn maze, trivia, picking the best pumpkin for carving at the pumpkin patch\u00a0and a scenic\u00a0hayride\u00a0over a\u00a0140-acre\u00a0farm. Seyfert’s also has some unconventional activities like giant slingshots and barnyard foosball, a live foosball game.\u00a0Seyfert\u2019s\u00a0hours are Friday-Sunday from 12\u00a0p.m. to 8 p.m. until Nov.\u00a01.\u00a0For more information, visit\u00a0www.seyfertscornmaze.com<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Another option for those who are 21 or older is Oktoberfest. Many breweries in the area are participating in this annual event. One, specifically, is Mount Gretna Craft Brewery in Palmyra.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI have worked at Mount Gretna Craft Brewery for about three years now,\u201d Danny Galvez, LVC senior and Mount Gretna Craft Brewery bartender, said. \u201cI have worked the event each year, including this year. However, due to COVID-19, this year\u2019s Oktoberfest celebration has taken a different form. We are currently opening the parking lot to tailgates so that service is provided to individual cars and tents which allows for a really fun environment within the parameters of safely social-distancing during the pandemic.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Oktoberfest will be taking place every other Saturday throughout the month, the next celebration being Oct. 10, at 5:30 p.m. in the parking lot. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThis year\u2019s iteration of Oktoberfest has actually been my favorite thus far,\u201d Galvez said. \u201cHaving individual tailgates in the parking lot as well as lawn games and live music provides an overwhelmingly positive atmosphere.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n
