For a number of LVC athletic teams, spring break is the perfect opportunity to travel and compete.<\/p>\n

The Flying Dutchmen baseball, softball, men’s and women’s tennis and men’s golf teams will all be traveling south to one destination or another over the next 10 days to fit in a couple of vital early-season contests.<\/span><\/p>\n

Both the baseball and softball teams will be traveling to Florida, with the men heading to Ft. Pierce and the women playing in Clermont. Baseball will play eight games from March 5-9, while softball will also compete in eight games over a five-day stretch.<\/p>\n

\u201c<\/span>Going to Florida is really beneficial for us because we play great competition down there and it’s usually our first time to get outside because of the weather here at the Valley,\u201d Jon Harned, a junior outfielder, said. \u201cIt’s also really fun because it helps bring the team together and improve our chemistry.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

The men’s golf team is traveling to Whispering Pines, N.C., over a four-day period. They will play at the Country Club of Whispering Pines and Foxfire Resort & Golf Club.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201c<\/span>I’m excited to go because normally at this time of year you don’t get to go out and golf on a course,\u201d Tyler Cottle, a junior golfer, said. \u201c[Whispering Pines] has always been a place that I have wanted to go to, so it’s great that I get to go down with teammates and just have some fun times.<\/span>\u201d <\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span>LVC\u2019s men’s and women’s tennis teams will head back to Hilton Head, S.C., for spring break. The women face Catholic, Baldwin Wallace, and Eastern Nazarene throughout the early half of the week. The men also take on Baldwin Wallace and Eastern Nazarene before closing out the trip against Bridgewater.<\/span><\/p>\n
