{"id":5603,"date":"2019-12-03T01:48:49","date_gmt":"2019-12-03T01:48:49","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/wordpress.lvc.edu\/wordpress\/lavie\/?p=5603"},"modified":"2019-12-03T01:48:49","modified_gmt":"2019-12-03T01:48:49","slug":"pedestrian-bridge-opens-via-stairs-only","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wordpress.lvc.edu\/lavie\/2019\/12\/03\/pedestrian-bridge-opens-via-stairs-only\/","title":{"rendered":"Pedestrian bridge opens via stairs only"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"dslc-theme-content\"><div id=\"dslc-theme-content-inner\"><p>By Brianna Metsger &#8217;19, Assistant Editor<\/p>\n<p class=\"N-ZiCg direction-ltr align-start para-style-body\">President Thayne announced today via email that the pedestrian bridge over the train tracks is now open for students to cross via stairs only.<\/p>\n<p class=\"N-ZiCg direction-ltr align-start para-style-body\">A temporary certificate of occupancy for the pedestrian bridge has been approved by Annville Township, Norfolk Southern and MetEd, thus clearing the way for LVC to open\u00a0the bridge to foot traffic using the stairs only.\u00a0LVC applied for the temporary permit so that students and members of the campus community could begin using the stairs and walkways.<\/p>\n<p class=\"N-ZiCg direction-ltr align-start para-style-body\">Most of the lighting system has been installed and a significant portion of the landscaping and walkways is complete; however, the steel for the accessibility ramps and the remainder of the lighting system for the bridge await installation sometime before the beginning of the spring semester.<\/p>\n<p class=\"N-ZiCg direction-ltr align-start para-style-body\">A formal dedication will take place in April.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<div class=\"mh-excerpt\"><p>By Brianna Metsger &#8217;19, Assistant Editor President Thayne announced today via email that the pedestrian bridge over the train tracks is now open for students to cross via stairs only.
