One senior English major explored a summer internship that ended with a job post-graduation. <\/p>\n

Until recently, Paige Bryson was in constant thought of where her life would lead after graduation in May. Then, at the end of her junior year, several faculty members approached her with an opportunity for a local internship with Under Armour in Hershey. <\/p>\n

Located at the Tanger Outlets, Bryson began her 10-week internship with Under Armour on Memorial Day. The internship was structured as a rotational program in two-week increments, where she gained experience in three departments which included human resources, operations and visual merchandising. <\/p>\n

While Bryson learned the ins and outs of Under Armour as a company, she was also able to gain valuable experience and strengthen skills that would prove to be essential in her life outside of the classroom. <\/p>\n

\u201cWhile I already felt like I had good communication skills, this internship really made me put them into practice,\u201d Bryson said. \u201cWhether I\u2019m talking to management, corporate, teammates or customers, I had to be aware of the way I was communicating with each group and I had to alter my communication style to each of them. It helped me to learn that communication really does vary based on who you\u2019re talking to.\u201d <\/p>\n

The intention of the program Bryson participated in is to offer interns positions after the program is over. The company looks to train interns to take positions in management upon graduation, and along with its program intentions, Under Armour officially offered Bryson an assistant manager position in September. <\/p>\n

\u201cI feel like I\u2019m kind of living the ideal senior year,\u201d Bryson said. \u201cI don\u2019t have to worry about job searching because I know I\u2019m walking into a job with people I love, a product I love and a culture I love.\u201d<\/p>\n

Bryson has accepted the full-time position and will be placed in an Under Armour location in Hershey, Gettysburg or Lancaster.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
