Many\u00a0students\u00a0spent spring break at\u00a0home, while\u00a0others traveled\u00a0to various places around the country;\u00a0members of the\u00a0LVSki\u00a0and\u00a0Snowboard Club\u00a0traveled to\u00a0Vermont\u00a0during spring break to\u00a0hit the slopes.<\/p>\n

From March 3 to 7, the club traveled to Mount Snow in West Dover, Vermont, to fulfill their goal as a club\u00a0and enjoy their time off from school.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe experience was amazing,\u201d Coulson Lash,\u00a0a sophomore physical therapy major, said. \u201cThe mountain was fantastic in every way.\u00a0The views and snow conditions were unforgettable. It was 100\u00a0percent\u00a0worth the drive and money\u00a0and\u00a0I would recommend it to anyone.\u201d<\/p>\n

The\u00a0LVSki\u00a0and\u00a0Snowboard\u00a0Club\u00a0was formed\u00a0during the\u00a02017-18\u00a0school year by\u00a0Lash and\u00a0William Kubistal, a\u00a0sophomore\u00a0and actuarial science major, who came together with their similarities\u00a0and love for\u00a0the slopes.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen the club started, I don\u2019t think specifically going to Mount Snow was our goal, but we definitely wanted to do a big trip like this at some point,\u201d Kubistal said.\u00a0\u201cThankfully Coulson did a great job organizing and finding an\u00a0insanely good price for everyone.\u201d<\/p>\n

The club\u00a0began fundraising\u00a0at the beginning of the semester\u00a0to cover the various costs for the trip.\u00a0They received most of their\u00a0money\u00a0from\u00a0the Annville Grille,\u00a0which\u00a0gave the club\u00a015 percent of all food orders during the afternoon of\u00a0Feb. 17.<\/p>\n

After driving five and a half hours to the resort, the trip itself turned out to be one to remember.<\/p>\n

\u201cOne of the guys going, Kurt Harnish, it was his first time ever skiing,\u201d Kubistal said.\u201d\u00a0Over the three days, he improved a lot and even went on some blue squares (medium difficulty) towards the end of the trip.\u201d<\/p>\n

The club hopes to continue\u00a0to grow in size.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen I came to LVC Live as an incoming student and then my first semester at the Activities Fair, I was shocked LVC did not have a ski club with all the great mountains nearby,\u201d Lash said.\u00a0\u201cSo, I took it upon myself to create the club from scratch. In two years as a club, it has been nothing short of an overwhelming success.\u201d<\/p>\n
