With all spring sports coming to a close at the end of April, the men\u2019s lacrosse team is looking to make waves with a strong finish to the season.<\/p>\n

The LVC men\u2019s lacrosse team has had a season of difficulties with a 5-4 record to date. However, the Dutchmen have pulled off some key wins against rivals Delaware Valley and Marymount University. The season has been plagued with rough weather causing some games to be postponed along with some injuries.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have been fighting through some tough matchups this season and we have been doing well considering some of the injuries that have affected our team,\u201d Kevin Beaver, a junior attack, said.<\/p>\n

The Dutchmen have had a strong defense this year and the team feels their defense is the strongest part of their game. However, the team has struggled on the road and needs to improve as they go forward with conference play.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe need to do a better job of taking care of business when playing in another team\u2019s stadium,\u201d Koty Keefer, a senior midfielder, said.<\/p>\n

Keefer was a 1st team all-conference midfielder his sophomore year but had to sit out his entire junior season due to a torn ACL. Keefer is looking to reclaim that all-conference spot again, but his focus is still on the team succeeding.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe main goal for this year is to earn a spot in conference playoffs, and contend for a conference title,\u201d Keefer said.<\/p>\n

The team is focused on earning a playoff spot. The team brings a lot of energy to all the games which all the players can feed off of. The players and coaches on the team feel that no team is ever successful with a quiet sideline.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur players on the sidelines are always hyped, even if they don\u2019t get too much time,\u201d Beaver said. \u201cThe energy they bring really helps to pump up our offense and defense.\u201d<\/p>\n

The players have been excited to be able to learn from their newest coach, Jack Crawford. Crawford played at Johns Hopkins University where he won three NCAA Division 1 National Championships. Coach Crawford\u2019s focus is on the defense and also helps the face-off specialists.<\/p>\n

\u201cCrawford is a great coach and brings a ton of knowledge and experience to the team,\u201d Beaver said.<\/p>\n

The Dutchmen\u2019s next game at Arnold Field is April 11 at 7 p.m.; it\u2019s a conference game against Hood College.<\/p>\n
