{"id":3595,"date":"2018-02-08T22:15:46","date_gmt":"2018-02-08T22:15:46","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/wordpress.lvc.edu\/wordpress\/lavie\/?p=3595"},"modified":"2018-02-08T22:15:46","modified_gmt":"2018-02-08T22:15:46","slug":"upcoming-documentary-screening-at-allen-theatre","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wordpress.lvc.edu\/lavie\/2018\/02\/08\/upcoming-documentary-screening-at-allen-theatre\/","title":{"rendered":"Upcoming documentary screening at Allen Theatre"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"dslc-theme-content\"><div id=\"dslc-theme-content-inner\"><p>By: Jolie Winemiller &#8217;18<\/p>\n<p>LVC students are invited to attend the screening of the awarded documentary \u201cCorridor Four.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The screening will take place at Allen Theatre in Annville on Sunday, Feb. 11 at 5:30 p.m. \u201cCorridor Four\u201d is a documentary about the aftermath for Hawaiian native and first responder Issac Ho\u2019opi\u2019I after his experience inside the Pentagon on Sept. 11, 2001. The documentary discusses the stigma of mental health treatment and PTSD in the United States.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI noticed that LVC has a lot of majors that deal with psychology and this would be a great first-hand look for them to see first responders seeking treatment for PTSD,\u201d Maria Bissell, film producer and editor, said. \u201cIt\u2019s a different view point that they wouldn\u2019t experience otherwise.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The documentary was awarded \u201cBest Documentary\u201d from the Washington West Film Festival, \u201cBest in Show\u201d from the Rosebud Film Festival, and will be shown at the Richmond International Film Festival. After the film, Bissell and, director and cinematographer, Stephen Tringali will take part in a Q&amp;A for the audience.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBeing there and getting to answer questions for students will allow us to talk about what they saw as well as creating the documentary and filming,\u201d Bissell said. \u201cIt makes the experience more conversational than what students would get from a documentary on Netflix.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Students who bring their college IDs will pay $10 for tickets at the door. All students and the LVC community are welcome to attend.
