Paris, France\u00a0and New York City\u00a0– all places that local Lebanon artist\u00a0Isaac\u00a0Pelepko\u00a0has displayed\u00a0his artwork.<\/p>\n

Pelepko\u00a0is displaying his art,\u00a0“Academy of Dreams”\u00a0in\u00a0Zimmerman Recital Hall in the\u00a0Suzanne H. Arnold Art\u00a0Gallery.\u00a0The\u00a0opening reception\u00a0is Friday, Nov. 3,\u00a0from 5\u20137 p.m.\u00a0and is free and open to the public. Prior to the reception,\u00a0Pelepko\u00a0will hold an artist talk in the\u00a0art gallery\u00a0at 4 p.m.\u00a0Pelepko\u2019s\u00a0exhibit runs\u00a0until\u00a0Dec. 17.<\/p>\n

Inspired by the methods developed by European Academies of Art during the 18th century, Pelepko depicts the contemporary body.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe think that students will connect to Isaac\u2019s dreamscapes which are based on Japanese culture like anime,” Dr. Barbara\u00a0McNulty, director\u00a0of the Suzanne H. Arnold Art\u00a0Gallery, said.\u00a0“His\u00a0drawings of the figure are of the highest quality rendered in the academic tradition.\u201d<\/p>\n

Pelepko\u2019s\u00a0work is technical mixed with of desire, drama\u00a0and death, emulating the artist\u2019s subconscious and society as a whole.<\/p>\n

Pelepko is currently a professor at Lebanon Valley College where he teaches \u201cDrawing Studio: The Figure.\u201d<\/p>\n

He\u00a0is not only hosting an exhibit but\u00a0also\u00a0plans to paint live in the\u00a0Clyde A. Lynch Memorial Hall\u2019s atrium.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
