The Fellowship of Christian Athletes at Lebanon Valley College exists to build spirituality in the men and women who wear blue and white.<\/p>\n

The Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) focuses on serving local communities by equipping, empowering and encouraging people to make a difference for Christ. Anyone, regardless of his or her faith, is welcome to join the group.<\/p>\n

Taylor Reinhold, a senior early childhood and special education major, is a member of the LVC women\u2019s soccer team and the leader of the College\u2019s FCA.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe don\u2019t stress specific religions on people,\u201d Reinhold said. \u201cWe keep it open.\u201d<\/p>\n

One event the group participates in is Operation Christmas Child. Each October, the College\u2019s FCA joins with Charlie Grimes, the men\u2019s soccer head coach, to pack shoeboxes filled with small gifts and supplies for children in need.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe want to be more than just a Christ role model on the field,\u201d Reinhold said. \u201cWe want to be that role model everywhere.\u201d<\/p>\n

Josh Herring, a freshman business administration major and a member of the LVC baseball team, first heard about the group after attending a church service during orientation weekend.<\/p>\n

\u201cI wanted to get into a community that had other college athletes looking for fellowship to talk about God\u2019s word and to share my faith,\u201d Herring said.<\/p>\n

The desire of FCA is to positively impact student-athletes so that they can, in turn, positively influence their teams, the campus, the community and the world for Christ.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s an uplifting place,\u201d Reinhold said. \u00a0\u201cIt\u2019s about being a good person at the end of the day. Being a good person and being there for one another.\u201d<\/p>\n

Within the past year, the College\u2019s group has doubled in size and is looking to continue its expansion.<\/p>\n

\u201cFCA is a great opportunity to express your faith to other people,\u201d Herring said. \u201cIt\u2019s a place to grow close with others on campus who share the same beliefs as you.\u201d<\/p>\n

All students are welcome to join the College\u2019s FCA, which meets every Sunday at 7:30 p.m. in the Allan W. Mund College Center Living Room.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
