Twirling Club, open to anyone from a beginner who has never picked up a baton to an individual who has been twirling their entire life, is no exception.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Emilie Thibeault, a former LVC feature twirler and the founder of both Twirling Club and the Majorette Line, created the club to give students a place to develop their skills or learn twirling from scratch while having fun.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cIt\u2019s been such a big part of my life for so long,\u201d Thibeault said. \u201cI\u2019m happy to be able to stay involved and give back to the twirling world as a coach.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Thibeault graduated two years ago and has handed off the fun of Twirling Club to Jack Cowan, the current president.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cIt\u2019s really open to anyone,\u201d Cowan said. \u201cBeginners, people who might have been feature twirlers at their high school, or just anyone that really wants to challenge themselves and take the next step forward and meet a lot of new, fun people on campus.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For those who have seen the Majorette Line perform during home football games and thought it looked cool, Twirling Club is a great place to learn. Many people on the line had never picked up a baton before joining Twirling Club and are now out on the field this season. Students don\u2019t have to be in the Majorette Line to participate in Twirling Club, and they don\u2019t have to be in Twirling Club to try out for the line.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cYou never really know if you\u2019re good enough to be a majorette,\u201d Cowan said. \u201cBut once you start practicing, you never realize how good you can get.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Twirling Club is open to students of every year and major, regardless of experience level, and no equipment is necessary. All required batons are provided. All students need are closed-toe shoes, water and an open mind.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cPeople can improve, I think, beyond their expectations,\u201d Cowan said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Twirling Club meets Wednesdays from 7 to 8 p.m. at the Arnold Sports Center indoor track.
