In addition, she found&nbsp;herself in&nbsp;front of&nbsp;a&nbsp;class&nbsp;one mile down the&nbsp;road at Annville Elementary School. At the end of&nbsp;this&nbsp;semester, Lane will find herself walking across the stage with a&nbsp;degree&nbsp;in&nbsp;education and&nbsp;special&nbsp;education.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI&#8217;ve always known I wanted to work with kids,&nbsp;so teaching just felt right,\u201d Lane&nbsp;said.&nbsp;\u201cI&#8217;ve&nbsp;recently found a love for special education,&nbsp;which I&nbsp;didn&#8217;t&nbsp;initially expect. My goal each day is to make each kid&#8217;s day a little better, whatever that may look like.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lane is currently&nbsp;applying&nbsp;for&nbsp;a variety of&nbsp;teaching&nbsp;positions.&nbsp;During her student teaching,&nbsp;she taught third grade and&nbsp;provided&nbsp;autistic support.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe&nbsp;unknown of&nbsp;post-grad is definitely a little nerve-racking,\u201d she said.&nbsp;\u201cBut I know everything will fall into place soon.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Outside of the classroom, Lane has also&nbsp;left&nbsp;her mark on Arnold Field. The forward\/midfield senior captain started in 58 games, scored 20&nbsp;goals&nbsp;and had 15 assists&nbsp;in&nbsp;her four years.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cPlaying field hockey has allowed me to build meaningful relationships, provided challenges both physically and mentally, created the opportunity to be part of something bigger than myself, and inspired me to give back by coaching younger players,\u201d Lane&nbsp;said.&nbsp;\u201cThrough this,&nbsp;I\u2019ve&nbsp;been able to develop resilience,&nbsp;leadership&nbsp;and&nbsp;a strong sense&nbsp;of discipline. Most importantly, field hockey has shaped me into a more confident and driven person, qualities that I will carry with me far beyond the field.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The 81 East Sheridan house, which is&nbsp;located&nbsp;on campus&nbsp;and where Lane lived,&nbsp;played a role in many of her&nbsp;college&nbsp;memories.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI was lucky enough to live there twice, with two different groups of&nbsp;people&nbsp;and we all have so many memories there,\u201d&nbsp;Lane said.&nbsp;\u201cThe mindset of living your best life and having fun has changed my perspective and helped me succeed in college.
