Behney, a senior biochemistry, molecular biology and environmental science major presented research titled \u201cEvolution of the Expansin Superfamily in Bryophytes and Green Algae.\u201d Bheney\u2019s research was recently published in <em>Protoplasma<\/em>, an international biology journal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Inquiry provided Bheney with the opportunity to share her work with students from all majors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI love being able to share my passion and research with a wider audience,\u201d Bheney said. \u201cIt\u2019s valuable to be able to share different perspectives because as a society we benefit from learning from each other.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dawson Boyer, a sophomore neuroscience major, echoed these sentiments. \u201cIt\u2019s interesting to be able to share your research with people who may not be familiar with it. It helps you get a wider view of things.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Boyer presented research examining reaction times in athletes vs. non-athletes, and between athletes in different sports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Other projects presented a combination of research and creativity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Bernadette McLain, a freshman English and creative writing major, shared a story written in Spanish inspired by research about social stratification in Colombia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Rose Grisbacher, a junior creative writing and creative arts major and Kohai Pavan, a junior creative writing and English major, presented their children\u2019s story \u201cAnd the Explorers Kept Coming\u201d. The story is based on <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Chinua_Achebe\">Chinua Achebe<\/a>\u2019s <em>Things Fall Apart<\/em>, retold from the perspective of the Igbo gods.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Eakin, a junior interaction design major, displayed a project on eco-anxiety inspired by Dr. Machado\u2019s \u201cArt as a Social Practice\u201d course.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Her project, titled, \u201cSea-Renity: The Global Plastic Crisis &amp; Mental Well-Being (an Intervention)\u201d explored the presence of plastic trash on clean beaches, and ways to prevent eco-anxiety.
