Abby Adams wanted to be a mental health psychologist but over time that vision changed into something else.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Adams has always felt the importance mental health has in people’s lives. This passion is what helped drive her decision to attend LVC. She was originally enrolled in the three plus two-year clinical mental health counseling but changed her path along the way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI started to realize it was not a career I wanted for myself, and I had other interests as well,\u201d Adams said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Adams also had an interest in business administration, especially in the marketing field which her dad currently works in.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI would say his career opened me up to that field but did not make me immediately want to join,\u201d Adams said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During Adams\u2019 junior year she changed her path. She continued as a psychology major but dropped out of the Clinical Mental Health Counseling (CMHC) program and picked up a minor in marketing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Because she had done three years in an accelerated program, she graduated with her bachelor’s degree a year early.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since then, she was accepted into LVC\u2019s business administration master\u2019s degree program and is almost halfway done.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIf someone would have told me that this is where I would be in my career path 3 years ago, I probably would just laugh because I was set on the counseling program. It is crazy how much can change in your college career and I feel like I am a good example of that .\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Adams is currently halfway through her degree and is happy with her decision. She plans to apply for a job in the marketing field after graduation.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
