Education professor, Dr. Bettie Bertram, gives insight on how she navigates the challenges and avoids burnout.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Bertram has shown great&nbsp;perseverance&nbsp;in her time as a professor, and she has never let anyone tell her what she can and cannot do.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cMy guidance counselor told me I could not make it, so is set out to prove that I could,\u201d Bertram&nbsp;said. \u201cI did amazingly well in undergrad and kept going into graduate&nbsp;school.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Bertram then went on to attend graduate school for an additional twenty years.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The future generations rely&nbsp;on&nbsp;not only sufficiently educated teachers and professors but educators that express empathy and understanding.&nbsp;Bertram strives to be both every day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI want to meet students where they are, help them&nbsp;grow and give them fun learning,\u201d Bertram said. \u201cI want to model that learning can be lifelong.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Learning alongside students as an educator fosters a rich environment for growth and acceptance. Bertram gives endless opportunities to share her knowledge with&nbsp;others but&nbsp;is also&nbsp;open to hearing&nbsp;new ideas&nbsp;from the future educators she is guiding.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Bertram feels the education field is truly fulfilling when she sees students\u00a0interested\u00a0in their profession while also\u00a0fulfilling their duties as teachers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Teaching&nbsp;the children of the world is not an easy task. It is full of monumental challenges&nbsp;and mistakes.
