After being humiliated at prom, Carrie unleashes revenge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">LVC student Karlee Marroncelli has previously performed in LVC music theatre productions of \u201cTuck Everlasting\u201d as Mae Tuck and \u201c9-5\u201d as Doralee Rhodes with LVC Music Theatre, and they are looking forward to returning to the stage with \u201cCarrie.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201c\u2018Carrie\u2019 explores themes of adolescence, as well as sexuality and shame. It also provides an eerie twist on the experience of growing up during high school,\u201d Marroncelli said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Aside from Carrie herself, there are many notable characters in the show. Antagonists include Margaret White, Carrie\u2019s abusive mother; Chris Hargensen, who bullies Carrie and Chris\u2019 boyfriend Billy Nolan, who assists in Chris\u2019 plans to humiliate Carrie. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Other characters include Sue Snell, a popular girl at school who teases Carrie but later feels bad for her and attempts to make up for her actions; Tommy Ross, Sue\u2019s boyfriend who takes Carrie to the prom after Sue asks him to and Miss Lynn Gardner and Mr. Stephens, teachers at the high school.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cI\u2019m excited for \u201cCarrie\u201d because it\u2019s such a classic story, but as a musical it brings a new element of understanding the characters through the songs they sing,\" Marroncelli said. \"I\u2019m also just excited to work with some incredibly talented people once again, and hopefully get to meet new faces in the program!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">LVC students who are interested in auditioning can sign up at the link in LVC Music Theatre's Instagram bio. Students will be asked to sign up for a 5-minute audition slot and sing 32 bars of a song fitting the character that they would like to audition for.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cPeople should join because it is not only a great educational experience in theatre and performing, but it is also a fun time to collaborate with peers in such a thrilling show!\u201d Marroncelli said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Auditions will be held from 10:30 a.m.-2 p.m. at Blair Music Center.
