Green Blotter\u2019s publication provides undergraduate students the opportunity to submit creative, original work to a legitimate publication, as well as provides staff with reading and editing experience.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI thought the game night would be a good way to build camaraderie,\u201d Sally Clark, staff advisor of Green Blotter, said. \u201cStaff that enjoy each other is something that has a positive impact on the way things work. \u00a0If people have shared some laughs, they are going to be more likely to invest energy and ideas in a group.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The game night consisted of unconventional card games, such as a Cards Against Humanities-styled game in the fashion of the novel \u201cMoby Dick\u201d and a round of Exploding Kittens.<\/p>\n<p>Lauren Sigmon, a freshman double major in psychology and English, attended the game night and found it to be a fun experience, as well as something that brought her closer with the group.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe game night allowed me to feel a lot more comfortable around the Green Blotter faculty and staff,\u201d Sigmon said. \u201cI feel a lot less intimated to talk and input my opinion during discussions after getting to know the faculty and staff members more.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Another student who joined Green Blotter for the first time was Heather Riutzel, a sophomore psychology and art major.\u00a0 She noted that the Green Blotter staff was fun and lighthearted, and she anticipates that she will return to the group.<\/p>\n<p>To learn more about Green Blotter, or if a student would like to submit original, creative work to the magazine, click <a href=\"http:\/\/www2.lvc.edu\/greenblotter\/\">HERE<\/a> for more information.\u00a0 One can also find a history of the publication as well as submission regulations and deadlines.<\/p>\n<p>If a student would like to join Green Blotter as a reader or staff member, contact Sally Clark at <a href=\"mailto:sclark@lvc.edu\">sclark@lvc.edu<\/a> for further details.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<div class=\"mh-excerpt\"><p>(By Jackie Chicalese &#8217;18, Staff Writer) Green Blotter held its first game night Monday, Sept. 26, as a means of welcoming the new academic year and upcoming staff.
