{"id":12043,"date":"2024-03-01T17:55:00","date_gmt":"2024-03-01T17:55:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/wordpress.lvc.edu\/wordpress\/lavie\/?p=12043"},"modified":"2024-03-01T17:55:00","modified_gmt":"2024-03-01T17:55:00","slug":"third-annual-celebration-of-teaching-and-learning-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wordpress.lvc.edu\/lavie\/2024\/03\/01\/third-annual-celebration-of-teaching-and-learning-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Third annual celebration of teaching and learning"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"dslc-theme-content\"><div id=\"dslc-theme-content-inner\">\n<p>By Jake Marcus \u201924, staff writer<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On Thursday, Feb. 29, twenty early childhood and special education student teachers celebrated their accomplishments with presentations in Zimmerman Hall.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Seniors in the early childhood and special education programs at LVC presented their semester-long research to peers, professors and faculty.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These seniors completed their final student teaching experience in the fall, the last step towards receiving their certificate of education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The guidelines for the project were relatively open-ended.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cDesign a research question, implement it, reflect on it, then present it.\u201d Jennifer Kuntz, director of field experiences and assistant professor at LVC, said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This gave students the opportunity to cater the research to their interests.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Nick Morder, a senior early childhood education major, presented a project that questioned the correlation between behavioral management and a reward system.
