Intermetzo is an important part of LVC\u2019s campus, but it\u2019s the friendly faces who keep it up and running.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Located in Clyde A. Lynch Memorial Hall, Intermetzo is a one-stop-shop for students who need an early morning caffeine fix or a midday pick-me-up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When students go to place that order, there is always one smiling face behind the counter: Crystal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Crystal has been working for Metz and serving students for 10 years now and has loved every second. When asked about her favorite part of the job, Crystal had a clear answer:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cGetting to interact with all the students,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While Crystal may love the students, students are just as lucky to have someone who gets to know the campus community as well as she does. For many students, they don\u2019t even have to tell Crystal what they want \u2013 she’s got their order memorized.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI like my job, so I love the interacting that what makes it easier to memorize the faces\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Before Crystal started working for Metz, she worked at a Copacking company and was a nursing assistant for many years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cTaking care of the elderly, bathing, getting dressed and transporting them to activities.\u201d \u201cInvestigating their materials to make sure they have the right materials when packing almost like a quality control.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now, working for Metz allows her to have a more flexible schedule to take care of her family.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Some students go further to show how appreciative they are of her by getting her a holiday card last semester.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
