{"id":11382,"date":"2024-02-05T19:59:12","date_gmt":"2024-02-05T19:59:12","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/wordpress.lvc.edu\/wordpress\/lavie\/?p=11382"},"modified":"2024-02-05T19:59:12","modified_gmt":"2024-02-05T19:59:12","slug":"tuck-everlasting-cabaret-sparks-excitement","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wordpress.lvc.edu\/lavie\/2024\/02\/05\/tuck-everlasting-cabaret-sparks-excitement\/","title":{"rendered":"\u201cTuck Everlasting\u201d cabaret sparks excitement"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"dslc-theme-content\"><div id=\"dslc-theme-content-inner\">\n<p>By Bella Getz \u201924, staff writer<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>LVC\u2019s music theater community set the stage for their upcoming production, Tuck Everlasting, with a cabaret held at Pho Bar &amp; Grill on Friday, Jan. 26.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Eighteen students and faculty showcased their talents, offering a sneak peek into the upcoming production based on the Natalie Babbitt novel, \u201cTuck Everlasting.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe students within the cast and production team worked tirelessly to put on a sell-out cabaret,\u201d Jonathan Walker-VanKuren, assistant professor of music theatre &amp; studio voice, said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The production of Tuck Everlasting delves into the story of eleven-year-old Winnie Foster, who dreams of a life beyond the white-picket fence. As she discovers the Tuck family and their secret, the narrative explores themes of adventure, immortality and life choices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIf the wild success of the cabaret says anything, it is to get your tickets now!\u201d Walker-VanKuren said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Performances are scheduled for April 4-6 at 7:00 p.m. and April 7 at 2:00 p.m. in Leedy Theater in the Allan W. Mund College Center. Tickets are available for purchase through LVC Music Theater BookTix.
