{"id":10041,"date":"2023-05-06T21:24:15","date_gmt":"2023-05-06T21:24:15","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/wordpress.lvc.edu\/wordpress\/lavie\/?p=10041"},"modified":"2023-05-06T21:24:15","modified_gmt":"2023-05-06T21:24:15","slug":"the-journey-continues-for-lvc-student-journalist","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wordpress.lvc.edu\/lavie\/2023\/05\/06\/the-journey-continues-for-lvc-student-journalist\/","title":{"rendered":"Journey continues for LVC student-journalist"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"dslc-theme-content\"><div id=\"dslc-theme-content-inner\">\n<p>Derrick Hornbaker \u201923, staff writer<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With the end of the academic year in sight and a good portion of the student body saying \u201cgoodbye\u201d to LVC, it\u2019s a good time to check in with this year\u2019s graduating class and see where they\u2019re heading.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Angelica Fraine is a name that should be familiar to anyone in the English or art programs at LVC. She\u2019s been a prominent figure within those communities for her entire stay here, as well as acting as a member of the Visioneers Club. Now, she looks to pursue her education even further in graduate school.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI won\u2019t lie, it\u2019s been a little stressful to try and balance preparing my applications alongside the school work I\u2019ve been doing,\u201d Fraine said. \u201cBut I\u2019m really passionate about journalism, so that\u2019s been helping keep me motivated, that this is something I really want to do.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Fraine explored a good few options to pursue her journalistic goals, before deciding that Quinnipiac University\u2019s Masters of Science in Journalism program best suited her aspirations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s a smaller program that functions a lot like LVC\u2019s English department,\u201d Fraine said. \u201cI\u2019m particularly interested in their arts and culture specialization, as that\u2019s sort of my main thing here at LVC.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The application process was grueling, but Fraine had been lucky enough to have support from her professors throughout the process to keep her sane.
