Students quarantined due to COVID-19

Extra precautions are in place after an LVC student tested positive for COVID-19 last week.

As a result, students living on the second floor of Mary Green Hall have been quarantining since Monday, Oct. 19.

Students under quarantine cannot leave their rooms unless it is to use the bathroom. They are allowed to walk outside for 15 minutes a day and can only attend classes over Zoom. Meals are also delivered to students.

“When they first told us we had to quarantine, I became even more stressed,” Courtney Dierkes, a junior exercise science major, said.

Students under quarantine will be allowed back to in-person classes after two weeks unless another resident on the floor tests positive. If that is the case, the students will undergo another two weeks of quarantine.
