This past weekend the Dutchmen football team defeated Widener University for the first time since 2010.

Going into halftime, the Dutchmen left the field down 28-14. Hunter Wilson went into the locker room with an already impressive game boasting two touchdowns and over sixty yards rushing. Little did he know, he was moments away from setting school records, and the best game in his collegiate career.

“Even though we were down, I trusted my teammates, and we went back out knowing we were coming home with a win,” Wilson, a senior running back, said.

When the dust settled, the Dutchmen left with a victory, beating the Pride 41-35. Hunter Wilson ended the game with five touchdowns, tying two LVC football records: the record for all-time rushing touchdowns in a game, as well as total touchdowns in a game. Wilson also racked up 233 yards rushing, putting him in fourth place for total rushing yards in a single game in school history

The Dutchmen will travel to Delaware Valley University this Saturday to battle for the first-place spot in the Middle Atlantic Conference.
