The Dutchmen faced nationally ranked Misericordia in a head-to-head match on Sept 12.

The Dutchmen’s defensive unit played a tough game, keeping the ball off its end of the field with the assistance of Serena Donmoyer, a junior goalie. Donmoyer played a strong game, with a total of eight saves, making this her season high. The team fought through a scoreless 90 minutes, pushing the game into overtime. The Dutchmen fell to Misericordia by one goal.

“We are using the loss as motivation to come back even harder next Wednesday against DeSales,” Lea Dungan, a senior captain, said. “Losing in overtime is super disappointing and we are going to remember that feeling to challenge us to never feel that way again.”

The team’s next match is against DeSales University on Wednesday, Sept. 19, at 4 p.m.
