Emergency calls

By La Vie Staff Writer

LVC has 22 phones, each equipped with a blue light, located on campus for students to use in case of an emergency.
Additionally, there are emergency phones on the exterior walls of each residence hall and within every elevator on campus.

The two newest blue lights are located at McGill Baseball field/Herbert Soccer stadium and along the pathway between Arnold Field and the Shankroff Tennis complex. These two poles each have a surveillance camera mounted on the top of the pole.

“Students, employees and guests of the College should use these emergency devices any time they feel threatened, unsafe or lacking other mechanisms to contact the Office of Public Safety in times desired,” Brent Oberholtzer, LVC’s director of public safety and Green Dot coordinator, said.

Oberholtzer said the officer on duty should be able to reach the caller within three minutes from anywhere on campus.
